Need your Opinion on New Rear Garnish
I've got a VT and am gonna change the rear garnish from the old refelctor style to either just plain white, (like my car) or black, i'm changing the tail lights too, they will be black too, just some altezza ones off ebay. But I can choose the colour. Any opinions would be great, thanks,
Dan

Definatly paint the VT garnish preperation is the key 2 it tho dont go VX garnish they look poo. U wont need 2 move the reverse lights if u go altezzas just take the globes out from the garnish and with the standard altezzas u'll need 2 run another earth wire 2 the opposite tail light have both reverse lights workin.

Thanks for your replies, WRX what do you mean by prep, like making sure the panel I put in is under coated ect? I'm buying a panle off ebay, and I got a friend that can help me paint it. Its just the colour im unsure about. Black to blend in with the tail lights, or white to get the VX look. Thanks,
Dan

Go white for sure, I have seen a couple of people try the black with very little sucess... Cant go wrong with colour-coding to match the car...

While on the topic, will a VX Calais garnish fit a VT? I found VX Calais taillights on ebay, but cant find a garnish anywhere.
What do you think it would look like on my VT? Obviously the lights on the vx are clearer/lighter in colour than the stock vt ones, so id need to change the garnish to a vx one aswell.

If u look closely and run ur hands over the garnish as it is now u'll notice a few things that will stick out like dogs balls if u dont pay attention 2 them. Ur reverse lights have a ridge and gaps around them, these gaps will need filling up with a knifing putty then using some car bog over the top and then sanding it all back 2 take off the ridge so it feels nice n smooth. next thing u'll see specially after its been painted, the word holden inside the garnish and around the edges on the garnish where the back and front of the garnish has been joined together theres some indented plastic u can see on an angle an in certain light, not all garnishes have these but most do get it if they have been exposed 2 high temp from the sun over time. They just need some bog over the top of them then shaved smooth after that prepare ur garnish as normal b4 u paint it.

Ive decided to go with white, it does look nicer. I a brand new VX Garnish the other day and will paint it in the next few days, I want to try to remove the garnish now just to see how its done but I cant get it right. Any help on how to remove the garnish would be great, also, how do I remove the taillights? And WRX you mentions I'll need to run an earth wire to the opposite taillight how should I go about that? Whats the easiest way to do it? Thakns for all your help.
