Default Transmission problems

I have a N/A VX 3.8L Auto and I have recently had a transmission service, at which they found some metal in the oil pan and filter . It has also been making some noise whenever I drive (been doing this for months). Now i'm trying to decide whether I should go and get it reconditioned at a transmission specialist or if I should buy one of the AcDelco remanufactored units.
I can get the AcDelco box with reconditioned converter for $1400 (normally $1700 but they want to clear thier stock), drive away, no swap. These come with 3 years/60,000km warranty. But I'm a bit afraid that this is a bit cheap and am worried that AcDelco may have cut corners to get this price.

So what I would like to know is, has anyone have any experience with these boxes?

Also what are some good (and preferably cheap) transmission place in the Brisbane area, and what prices would they charge for a good reco service?

-Adrian

I think you can get a performance build up for that much on a 4L60E.

Where could you get that done?

Two transmission joints have priced a normal reco at $2000'ish not including touching the stallie.

Automatic Transmission Specialists | service l repairs l rebuilds l hi-performance

Might want to post the question on the boards. $2000 is alot for just a freashen up. I got a tuff box and stall done for abit more than that with lots of good bits here in VIC.
