Default Problem

howdy everyone...i recently added a sub and amp combo to my vt series 2 s pack sedan. after hiding the power cable and what not the last thing left to do was to put the rubber washer thing? back into its original position inside the engine bay which closes up the hole in between the engine bay and the inside of the actual car where the wires lead intothus eliminating sound coming in from the engine bay.
the problem being that it wont go back and sit nice and tight like it did before. does any one no how this can fixed as the sound from the engine bay is finding its way into the car and it is getting annoying.
HELP!

cover it with dish washing liquid and use a long skinny screwdriver to push it into position
