Default S/C vt with Monaro bonnet

I herd that the monaro bonnet on s/c models keeps the engine cooler because of the air coming in , hence: better preformance...true or not?

in a way yes... but bringing air in through the bonnet, and having a vent hole further back on the bonnet would supply the best cooling method... though i wouldnt go and expect massive gains and if any, the car would have to be moving at high speed to actually create beneficial air flow. ive seen a few monaro bonnets with extra holes in them... bit of a placebo effect imo

I have one on my VX and all it does is ensure that there is a constant supply of dust going to my chargers oil seal and it keeps leaking on the snout. I run with the vent plugs unless it's at the drags now.

wow i never thought of that, but yeah u would get so much more crap in there and have to clean the engine bay more.

The genuine GTO bonnet only has plastic honeycomb. It is all for show. Dust is finer than mesh and will go through. I am thinking of taking my GTO bonnet off and just putting a new stocker back on. Want to buy mine?
