Hi,
I have a 98, 220 VT Senator and just wondering what people think might be a good way of giving it a bit more grunt without going over the top.
I'm in Sydney, some places to go and talk to some guys about work they can do and a rough price is what I'm after.
Any point in sticking it on the dyno for proper tuning ? I've been quoted about $1k for a proper dyno tune ?
Car is pretty much stock.
Thanks
Brad
exhuast, extractors and a cai would be a start if its stock mate
Thanks, Has extractors on it from factory and a decent exhaust - but i did put stainless on it from the extractors back just to change the note. Not sure what a cai is ?
aftermarket extractors will beef it up abit more.
cai = cold air intake
Ta, bit of a cold at the moment and not thinking.. drugs are obviously working well ;-)
chuck a nice L98 crate engine in it.
haha yeh maybe. hows an LS2 sound?
yeah, that would fall under the category of over the top.. ;-) I like to keep my cars pretty much stock and in A1 condition..
A dyno costs around $150.00 an hour and basically it will fine tune your engine and if its a geniune H.S.V. you already have mods done, how much more grunt do you want and how much do you want a spend, If you want to keep the motor stock and want heaps more horse power and at the same time save a fortune on petrol, fit a capa supercharger the basic unit fitted and a dyno your looking around $10 - $11 grand but believe me you will go from 220Kws to around 350kws with only the basic unit. You can find out more on the capa website. With the prices of petrol these days forget about cams and stall converters etc, keep it stock amd get all the horse power you want and running 10.1 litres per 100 kms
as people have said exhaust, cai and tune. I don't think there would be much more you could do to the old holden stroker without it being expensive. They are good engines tho.
