Question VX SS - Dash Conversion

I recently purchased the below items from eBay. I assume that it would be a straight switch over and then taking the car to Holden to match the new odometers reading to the old one?

    Dash Cluster

    Hazard, Trip and Headlight Switch

    Heater Control

    Question

Are there any differences between the VX Cluster and the VX SS Cluster? If not, is it as simple as getting Holden to re-calibrate the dash?

At the time, I couldn't find a 3 window dash on eBay and since some the globes in the dash / heater control had blown, i thought it would be better to replace everything rather than having blue / green etc / orange.

These are the quotes I received to re-calibrate the dash.

    1) $140 from Holden to reset everything except the odometer
    2) $181 to match the new odometer to the old one (3rd party company)

    Talking Dash Fitted

Fitted the dash this afternoon and have to say it looks really good. The only slight exception is the light which slightly bleeds around the RPM and Speed Needles.

    Angry Odometer Recalibration

After speaking to the 3rd company party, they have now come back stating that they may not be able reset the odometer to the original dash. On top of that, they reckon it could take 3 days to reset it and they might require the assistance from another party to reset it but they wouldn't tell me who.

Does anyone know a company in Perth which can reset the odometer?

Give Dr Bob a PM i think theres more trouble with changing the ODO if its from a series 2 VT upwards (not sure on the VX's) and can only b changed if theres less than 100kms on the clock. Mines a VT 1 i got mine changed through him, hes not in perth but its worth the effort.

all else fails i can change ur original cluster 2 light up with LEDs.

to change the odo it will cost $400+ from what i have been told and not many places can do it
best bet would be some where like VDO or similar
thats why it is just easier to get a dash with lower or similar km
    thats what I did
$127 for a single window dash with 195000km sorry to say but you got ripped
    I payed $190 for a 3 window HSV dash with 60000km
    cheers GM
