when i push down on the accelerator
it takes a second or 2 for my car to react
im not a cool kid so i know nothing about cars haha
this is probably a really basic thing but yeh
actually no it probably takes a bit longer haa
That sounds perfectly normal. It takes a while from putting your foot down to the accelerator to your car reacting because of the Ecotec program. But your car also learns as you drive along. You can reset the computer and drive a little more aggressively if you wish (at the expense of fuel) and that will program your car to react a bit more sharply.
If you want a car that reacts to anything your foot touches, get yourself a normally aspirated 4 cylinder with a manual transmission...and forget turbos and superchargers coz that adds to your lag. :P
do the old reset just in case...turn the car on with out touching the accelerator or anything and let it idle for a min. then turn off.
if youve touched anything in the car or serviced it, it helps to do a reset because the engine may be getting more air or fuel or whatever.
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
no like i know the typical reaction time haha
but its really bad now
ill go to take off
accelerating slowly
and i sit still for a bit before it does actually take off
does it rev and then move?
if its doin what johnvtls1 said it would be ur trans slipping....if not just give it a reset and see what that does
I thought you just disconnect the battery, leave it off for a min or so, then reconnect the battery. That resets everything including the computer and the radio, so you'll need your PIN handy to key into your stereo.
is that also when you have to do the procedures in park and drive etc? (letting it idle in drive as well as park)
i had this problem cose my vt used to belong to my mother lol and she drove like a ganny, i just wacked an exhaust on changed the intake then disconnected the battery for 15 mins then reconnected it let it idle for 10 mins then took it for a cruise and started putting my foot down round corners and now it has become responsive. The air intake on the vt is very restrictive and has really bad throttle response. I have a pod on mine and it made all the differencegood luck
yeah u can reset by disconnecting the battery...ive always just done it by idling for about 20secs (minimum) cos it gives it a chance to figure out its base air intake and fuel intake, as soon as the accelerator gets touched the figures are all out.
i do it after all services, any audio installs, when the exhaust was done, etc etc.
it was really bad when i got my clutch replaced beacause it was used to the slipping old clutch, just did a quick reset and bang it was revving a lot more evenly.

really depends if its just reving out b4 it takes off.
as said earlier if its doing that, tranny is as good as gone, mates vs used to take about 10 seconds b4 it took off very slowly
could be the idle speed sensor or camsaft sensor
this has a little to do what is being discussed, but when im on the high way as im driving along it feels like the car is jerking back a little bit.. it will do this 2 or 3 times and the drive normally... is this normal?????
