Fan runs flat out and won't stop even when the key is turned off and removed.
The problem started a few weeks ago with symptoms that pointed to a speed resistor as the only speed that would work is full speed. Problem was the slower speeds would come back temprorarily which made me think maybe it wasn't the fan speed resistor. Now the only way to stop the fan is to pull the plug out of the fan as I can't find a fuse or relay for it.
I suspect it's a relay stuck on but as I already mentioned, I can't find it or a fuse. HELP![]()
The relay for the blower fan is located in the engine bay. Open the bonnet and its on the driver side near the edge. Pop open the black lid and the relays are there. Have a look on the underside of the lid and you'll see a diagram pointing out your blower fan relay. Its very likely your relays have fused contacts and you'll need new relays.
The fuses (if you ever need to replace them) is located towards the front of your car infront of your battery. Its a little black box with a clip lid.
Cheers for the help ACEMonkey. Thought I would give the speed resistor a go and it fixed it! It's a different style although the spare parts guy warned me it most likely would be. Only difference is now the HI Speed does not work any more, not that's an issue.
