Looks like a visit to the wheel aligner maybe in order. Is the steering wheel still centred?

Just dont let them sell you new bits withoiut a visit to the wreckers - could save a few dollars.

As for getting it fixed (not counting the rim) should not be more than a few hundred.

My brother smacked the gutter in is VZ storm the other day and smashed a rim on the back and knocked the alignment out.

Cost to repair. $55 for the alignment. $50 for a second hand 17x8 rim and 30 for a tyre.

I allways find the first few corners after the car wash rather "exciting" with all the wax on the tyres because it's pretty much full on drift racing (at 20km/h). I generally do a bit of a skid up the road and then a big stop when I leave to burn the wax off, technicaly illegal I guess but better than stacking on the next corner and I'm sure any reasnoble cop would understand.

But I guess if you weren't expecting it, it can be big trouble

After car washes = Danger time... 50 meters up the road where i wash mine, Once we seen a VYII SS ute in a tree. One of them roads that is extra slippery after a car has been washed, In the rain it's a killer.

Get it towed to someone and get them to look at it.

guard shouldnt be much to fix. if you have a mate whos an apprentice painter just bring it to their tafe and im sure theyd fix it for free.. other than that, have a mechanic or wheel aligner have a look at it to sus out what needs repairing. shouldnt be too much i dont think

I did something similar it my dads old work ute...

Looking at that picture we can only shoot wild estimates... all depends on how much damage there is that we can't see...

If you if have bent the tie rod and arm then it will not be too much to fix.... if you've given it a decent whack and the k-frame is twisted or bent... things could be interesting.

Either way... good luck... and put this is the "life experience" bin... safe to say you'll take it extra easy leaving a car wash from now on.

Bad luck mate.... but good luck with gettin back on the road.

    Keep us posted.

Replaced my front left wheel hub, cost me $80 from the wreckers. not too hard of a job to do compared to the back one!
Your major concern, from looking at that picture isn't your wheel alignment, wheel hub or rim (it looks anialated), but how far back the wheel was shunted. could be some serious chasis damage.
I have my old front left knuckle still if you need it, I'm in Melb.

As long as there is no structure damage or damage to K frame (then you'll be up for some big $$$) rest is changable/repairable parts. If its insured PAY your excess (cause you damage the body) and get'em to fix it.
If you dont want to do it that way,get under the car, mark the damaged parts, buy the new/second hand ones and fix'em your self.
Use this pic. as a guide.
Good Luck and let us know the outcome.

To me looks like your crossmember has been hit back. doesnt take much off a hit to move the crossmember back
You will find the holes that hold up the crossmember are very thin and designed to be ripped.
I dont think you would of bent your control arm, takes alot. However change your control arm bolts.
You'll definatly need a new wheel bearing, then obviously a alignment.

Similar situation happened to me, was a cheap fix however i decided to change other things while i was at it and the bill went up.

    Crossmember i got for $100
    Wheel bearing $150
    then other stuff not related

Good luck, but if your not mechanically minded then best to take it somewhere.

this happened to me, well the crashing part anyways, bent kframe, broken control arms, 2 buckled rims, dented guard, bushes, cost me $800 all up to fix the suspension, sort of a worst case scenario.

Well, im taking my car tomorrow to get someone to fix it, as i dont have the time to do it myself, i need a car.
Am i better asking a local mechanic to do it, or am i better trying Pedders? Pedders website lists alot of stuff needed, BUT ill need a new K-Frame and their site doesn't say if they do that or not. Can someone help?

Sent it off to get fixed and got a pretty good deal considering all the damage i did, i probably could have gotten parts cheaper but i need my car back urgently and currently dont have the space to do the stuff myself.

Will post a list when im done.
