They may have disconnected your sensors and forgot to plug them back in or perhaps even damaged one.
Did this happen immediately after you had the work done or after a while?

they noticed it not working after they finished the car, so i reckon you could be right about sensors, where are they located and do i have to pull wheels off?

The rear sensors are towards the diff and the front ones are in the hub assembly. You can get at them from under the car or you can remove the front wheels. Removing the rear wheels won't help, you will need to get under the car.

$400 for a second hand module and fitted is pretty steep considering a new unit only costs about $500 and it takes about half an hour to remove and fit the new one on....

When all the lights come on and stay on its due to a bad earth inside the ABS ecu, can check this by wriggling the main harness on the side of the module and see if the lights go out.
If you find this to be the problem, only buy the ecu part as you won't need the part where all the pipes go and there is a special procedure to bleed that part of the module.
