    Default Any suggestions ?

    Hi all,

Great forum you's have got here.. Been much help already guys, thanks, i'm now just having a few major issues with the vt s2 auto v6 125k.. I cant quite work out what it is... Hopefully you guys can shed some light on my problems, before i spend the $$$ and take it in to get looked at properly. Seems to be really jolting from 2nd-3rd, Other gear seem fine... Also after i've slowed down to turn a corner when i accelarate again i get a large thud (from the rear i think). Car also seems to be slightly shuddering when in 3rd... these problems seem to be getting worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks everyone

Probably not the answer you want, but probably already suspect, is it sounds like the g/box is probably dying a painful death. Thats not good though if its only got 125k on it.
Can speculate here what it may or may not be, but the best thing you can do is take it to your mechanic and get them to do have a look and anylize it, and go from there

Thanks for the reply VrWagz1. I dont really know why it is playing up on me , i havent abused it..

I wonder if anyone can actually tell me what the problems could be and if it is possible to fix them myself. ?

i wouldn't mind getting to know my car better anywayz.

If not, it would still be really great to have a rough idea of what is wrong so they dont try to rip me off.. Cheers

Sounds like my old VP's auto, Had this bang from time to time which to me sounded like it was the diff, But it finally went it only left me with 1st 2ng gear, Lost 3-4.

I was quoted about $700 to fix the problem, But ended up going reco for $1,100.

Sorry to say mate i had the exact same issue early last year and it needed a new transmission, McGrath Holden looked after the car from day one, and after 118,000km it was up for a new box. extended warranty was a joke we still had to fork out over 1k for it. shop around if u can, it'll pay off
