    Default lowering... please help

ok, i know there is other threads with the same topic, but they end up being distracted and nothing makes sense.

ok, what im after is some pics of your vt's or vx's and some info on what springs, shocks, struts you have.

ive been thinking about just getting king spring sl's.
    khfl47sl and khrl46hd

does anyone have a pic of this combo?

would like it a bit lower than that but dont know the codes and havent matched any codes up with pics, which is where i need your help.

and im guessing if i get lower springs i will need shorter shocks and struts?

and is it really neccasary to get a camber kit, how much are they?

    any help will do, thanks.

im after a little bit of tyre tuckage front and back [why do all vt's sit higher in the front? or does it just look that way because the wheel arch is bigger in the front?]

and i will be getting 18's in the future, tho the whole wheel should be the same size as the chasers i have on now yeah?

    few things

shorter shocks and struts recommended but not a must

vt's just generally sit higher in the front then the rear.. if you want it to sit flat then it is best to go one lower in the rear then in the front

    he is my set up

    Khfl47-sl and khrl-46ssl

hey mate, I have standard vt exec shockers with Pedders touring springs front and rear. I would like it lower in the front and pedders do a sports ryder spring that sits 1 inch lower. If your going as low as mine (not actually tha low compared to some) then you WILL NEED a camber kit. I have a camber kit and have a look at the pic of my last set of tyres:

    The tyres after 8000kays:

...and another thing, what happens when the boys in blue say its too low, do you just get a defect notice and you have a week or something to clear it, and go back to them to check if you fixed it? no fine?

depends where you are. QLD is a defect and 1 demerit point. SA is just a defect.

However the officer will choose if its a defect that can be cleared by going over the pits or simply going to the cop shop. Most of the time if your done for too low they will tick the pits boxs and your car will be fully inspected

Not sure on the height, It's between SL or Lows, It sits much higher in the bum, I have a sneaky suspicion it's SL front and Lows rear, Looks much lower at the front. Tyre at front is about level or just under the guard, Rear is above the tyre.
Sits with Pedders shorten shocks rear, And standard factory front. No camber kit yet.

first vt ive seen that sits lower at the front its normally the other way around, i like the height at the front, yeah id say they are only lows on the rear, looks like a nice clean vt you have there too.

so... ive decided to go with superlows, nothing ridiculously low as i dont want any unwanted attention by the police, bad enough im a p plater.

so superlow's for the vt are khfl47sl front
    and khrl46sl rear.

how much are they to buy at supercheap and repco and places like that?

cos ive seen them brand new on ebay for bout $230 + 20 postage, roughly.

pedders said $150 to install springs for me, is this a decent price?

and just to make sure... i dont really need to get shocks or struts?

but i do need a camber kit, 2 point or 4?

cheers guys, superlows should get the guard level with the tyres yeah?

i dont really want a gap, or much of a gap at least.

    thanks

bought superlows from pep parts... $280 and im getting my car serviced on the weekend hopefully so ill get the mechanic to chuck em in while he is at it... one thing that is troubling me is that i havent got a camber kit, and everyone is telling me i need one.

where do you get them from, someone give me the low down without stuffing me around please, cheers =]

I am about to put them in my VT (KHFL 47SL and KHRL 46HD with camber kit and new standard shocks and struts). I also have a bodykit which I have to make sure will stay above 100mm.

I will post pics of it.
