    Default FI v6

If I was to sell my car and get a v8 while on my p's would I be covered by my insurance if I were to be in an accident even though it is illegal for me to drive one

yeah, I know the whole argument behind not driving a V8 while on my p's but a v8 will have MUCH better resale value in 5 years time and I wont need to spend any money on my 6 as a stock 8 will be more then enough get up and go!

just give your insurance company an email or call, that will clear it up... i remember on SC forums some 18yr old baught a vn ss blown 5.0L and was paying a good chunk of the cars worth in full comp each year... so i guess it might be possible with some insurers to get it

I'd say no. Any insurance company won't pay you when if you are doing something illegal when you crash it....say like driving a V8

You can BUY & INSURE a V8 LEGALLY. No worries..BUT NO insurance company will pay-out / repair your damaged V8, IF its been driven and damaged by you..In the process you'll loose your license for god knows how long..

Think of it this way. If you drink and drive and have an accident and kill someone. Will the insurance company cover you if your over the legal blood/alcohol limit?

Answer is no. You would be up for the cost of repairing your vehicle, the vehicle you hit and any personal liabilities for injuries sustained.

Plus in NSW its a $397.00 fine for driving a restricted vehicle on your P's plus 3 or 4 demerit points and licence suspension!.

Yeah, I should check with my insurance company. The alternative is to convince my boss to sign a letter stating that I need to drive a v8 for work purposes. Thanks
