hey everyone!!! When i put my (automatic) vt calais into gear (drive and reverse) there is a large clunk as it goes into gear but its fine when driving.
Has anyone had any problems like this? is it gearbox, diff, uni-joints???
cheers any help appreciatedhow can i check/diagnose the prob?
my 2000 vt acclaim does the same. im sitting there idling in neutral at lights or something, lights go green i put her into gear and the back sinks down and thers a clunk noise, my dad knows a mechanic as his best mate and he reckons it was just my IRS but im not sure if that helps but thats what ive been told my car is doing lol
the diff centre rubber mount, other rubbe bushes in the irs setup all ok?

My VS does the same thing, but only when you put it into gear after starting. When it's warmed up it does it very smoothly.
id be checking the diff rubber mounts.
