Question VY Dash Modification For VT-VX?

    Hi all.

Just a quick Q.... Has anyone tried or completed a modification for the VY SS, HSV ect... Dash Cluster to fit into a VT-VX?

They might phisically look different but are the wiring harnesses definetly different?

Cutting and welding plastic isnt the problem

Even if you could get an aftermarket "lookalike" vy hsv dash facia to fit vt-vx?

I know a VZ dash cluster definitely will not work. I think VY Series 1 might. At VY they changed to electrical data stored in the ECU, rather than the mechanical dash clusters pre-VY.

PM someone that has put a VY/VZ dash in their VT/VX before like CHEETR and ask. CHEETR had to end up fitting his VT cluster into the VZ dash I believe.

    Thanks vn.

Ill shoot CHEETR a pm and ask him.

I might have to get a custom dash facia made up for the VT cluster...
I just like the round shape to it lol

Waste of time and money but itd be interesting to see what it looks like

yeah now im keen, id like to do it in my VR.
It is to my understanding (limited as it may be) that the whole wiring would need to be re done due to the Fly By Wire throttle rather than the Cable throttle found on earlier commodores.

I hate to trowl the forums, but i am in search of answers/ideas

yes they will, but VY trims are anthracite black, and yours will be light grey, so front door trims will look a little off compared to the dashpad. you could always replace that with one from a VX II which is the same color as the VY's
