I know this has probably been covered before but at least if I do this then I can cover all my bases, My VX equipe wagon has just started playing up after 135,000kms of holden driving pleasure.
The factory alarm is giving me grief, Its fine when the car is locked and as soon as you unlock it, the alarm sounds, now to stop this happening in the mean time I've removed the wire off the alarm horn (behind LH strut tower) and car still starts (no immobiliser?) so alls good for now, but would like to sort this out.
Things I've tried,
1. Removed Battery/replaced battery
2. used spare key to lock and un-lock
3. checked all doors including boot and bonnet
4. tried not using the remote and using just the key in barrell
5. checked voltage across the battery terminals when lock/un-locking
they all seem fine and I'm running into the end of this now, if anyone can help that would be great.
come on people, someone must have had this problem before, 5 more days (its been 3 months) and Is going into holden, so if you have the same problem ill let you know what it was.
The only thing I can think of remotely (sorry) similar is my old man's VY with a similar problem that according to the dealer when I asked was the door actuator, usually the drivers side.

I would try replacing the alarm relay, but I suspect the body control module has had it
so when you use the remote to unlock the car the alarm goes off?
bump, never ended up taking it into Holden, cars not gonna get stolen (touch wood) and its stops with the wire off the horn/alarm
My VX had an issue with the BCM.. what happened was, I was driving home from work and the alarm just went off like beeeeep instead of beep beep if u get my drift.. and the dside window doesnt go up.
Took it to a dealer and was told otherwise... that it was an issue with my battery and the ecu... not sure if theres any difference in bcm and ecu but yea.
