    Default tinting side indicators...

hey guys... keen on tinting my side indicators, has anyone done this?

    is it legal?

its either tint them, or delete them... and buy the extremely poofy chrome side mirrors with the indicators built into them, and sand them back and paint them black... reason being my car is pretty much all black and they stick out like dogs balls...

or does anyone know if i even need side indicators?

pretty sure my vl didnt have them... lol dont remember.

but yeah.. keen to tint them, wouldnt go too dark.

I havent known anyone thats done it but id imagine it would be legal depending on how dark you go with the tint. You can have pink ones or green ones for example aslong as they light up amber when there flickering

i remember seeing an ls1 vt wagon somewhere... with red walled tyres, he tinted his.. he didnt know if they were legal tho.

i might just do it, keep my orange ones in the car and if the cops pull me over ill just get out and change them over lol, takes 10 seconds =]

    sweet, something to do lol

tinted side indicators on anything other than a dark grey, or black car looks stupid.

yeah dude im really leaning towards that option hey.. shouldnt actually cost THAT much.. take em out, weld a piece of metal to the back, bog it up and paint it, lol thats my style =]

but then where would i put it? cos im sure you need it legally, maybe on the front bumper, on the sides of it under the headlight?

any ideas fella's? will tint it anyways, just to see what it looks like.

if your car came with side indicators then it must retain side indicators! If you shave them off you can have indicators in the mirrors like BMW style mirrors . Look for the show car PUMPD VT Clubsport has shaved them off but he has BMW Style Mirrors with the indicator built in.

Yeah i just used that nightshades stuff its easy 2 use and if u want it more glossy just run over it with a clear coat that allows u 2 cut it back and polish it up.

With the BMW idea i rekon thats not a bad plan id imagine they would wire up the same way u would with ur normal mirrors only u would need 2 extend the side indicators wires n run them through that rubber groment thing in the doors and then up 2 the mirrors, doesnt seem 2 difficult if thats the case.

I used nightshade on my VE and it's easy as and looks sick. Mask it up and spray.
