Drivers side power window goes up but wont go down

Hi

Ive just bought a VT S 1998. Yesterday while driving I attempted to wind the power window driver side down and it didnt budge and had a ticking sound coming from under the steering column where the fuses are. I pressed the switch to wind it up and it worked fine but now its stuck up and not going down again. As I investigated where the sound was coming from I found it to be the Drivers Window Relay. I just replaced this relay with a new one and no result. Its still ticking and doing nothing. All the other windows in the car work fine and its only the Drivers Window playing up. If anyone has a clue what to do Id appreciate your help.

I had this problem last week which I fixed on the weekend, well dad fixed.

The contacts on the motor were dirty as. Cleaned them up and good as new.
It involved taking the the whole assembly out and taking the motor apart which didnt take long, putting the motor back together was very tedious.
