Hi there,
I have a vt acclaim wagon with all the faults, i love her all the same i need a roadworthy certificate to register her in qld and they knocked her back on a faulty abs module quoted me $900 to replace, i looked here and found a link to ebay i Send mine off to be repaired for $135 has anyone done this is it to good to be true...what do you think? Is a faulty abs module a knockback for roadworthy i dont seem to have any problems beside the fans making alot of noise and the brakes work just fine as i locked them up the other day and i didnt think we would stop but hey presto we missed the other 9 cars!!! i love this site being a female it gives me a head up everytime i need to deal with mechanics...

Whilst some people claim to be able to repair it, I'd find this unlikely as the electronic module itself is encased in resin so its a hard time digging at the faulty electronics. So, its more than likely they'd swap your faulty module with a second hand unit from a wreck, possibly a similar old version with the same electronics that could potentially fail some time in the near future.
In saying that, the first reason the module fails is because of faulty electronics. So you're better off getting a new module instead...get a quote first because the module itself costs about $600 new made by Bosch depending on which retail outlet you get it from, and its fairly easy to fit yourself with the right tools.
I just bought one new, I'll find the new price for you.... BRB..
New is $324 GST. Thats a 4 airbag module from Holden.
