Default Oil Change

I have a 2000 VT series II acclaim and it is getting an oil change and general service tomorrow.

This will be the first time ive had anything done to the car since i got it 5000 klms ago.

The car currently has 135XXX klms. I bought Penrite 15W 40 grade oil i was just wondering if this is right??

Also when i drop the oil out, will my car require a new sump plug washer??as i know some cars do.

Cheers

I am currently running 10w-40. So yes that 15w-40 should be fine, Even you could have tried the 15w-60 hpr15 i think it's called. After a look onto there website they recommended that oil also.

Hey Batty, I've done heaps of oil changes and never had to change the washer, just give it a wipe over with a clean rag and inspect it. But like I said never had to change one yet.

Sorry mist that bit. Yes as VYMAD said.

I made a mess on the sump of mine, They are one pain ion the arse to change oil on. VP on super lows i can still get under to. The VT had to go up on jack. My fault it leaked back and i didn't clean it.
