Recently i changed the oil on my supposedly vt series 1. Never the less i rounded off the sump plug due to frustration. anyways i went to buy a new sump plug and bought a series 1 sump plug. a series 1 supposedly has a smaller sump plug than the series 2. I bought the smaller one expecting it to fit but when removing the plug i found it had a larger plug, ie my car had the series 2 sump plug. The car has been in the family most of its life and the sump hasn't been changed or modified. Can anyone tell me as to why my car has a series 2 sump not the series 1 when it is meant to be a series 1. not that i'm complaining, i just find it interesting.
Thanks
If it's close to the end of the series 1 production run - often they will bring on line updates before the series 2 hits full production.

thanks for the quick reply, yeah i was thinking that. A little annoying tho when u ask for a series 1 part but need the series 2, guess i have a bitsa on my hands lol![]()
What was the build date on your VT - they were in full production for almost 3 years.

not too sure of the build date but i think by memory it was mid 1998. oh well guess i just have to be certain of what size/description the part is. i don't see it as a problem just a lil strange to do
just to give u an idea, my vx is an oct 2000 build(first of series 1's) and when i changed the front link pins it came with a series 2 link pin(link with the right angle ball joint - as compared to the straight curved link pin). just have to take the part down and match it up by measureing/eyeing lol
Mine was similar, VX parts fit it when repairing the front end. All the stuff for the A/C came off the VX. Rad support that whole section from a VX. They once gave me a part off a VT-1. I had to go back and have it replaced with a VTII VX-1 part.
