I've been wondering if any other 5speed VT V6 drivers have been wondering how, or if possible to chirp the rears with a factory clutch?
No matter how hard I rev her out to, the most she'll chirp is 1st into 2nd. Only problem is I don't want to push the motor too hard, afterall, she is just a lil 3.8Litre.
I've installed the Billet short shifter for the Getrag but I'm thinking mores needed, possibly a heavy duty clutch assembly?
Love to hear anyones input =).

1. Save it for the track
2. Its a getrag they are trash
and last but not least........
Keep doing it and you will break your getrag and will have to get a new clutch so you can kiss $1500 good by.
In short if you wanna chirp so much then lower the car and when your inside of the tyre wears out you will chirp till your hearts content, or have a accident in the process. Hope this helps.

my bros car is stock vt s chirps 2nd and 3rd with 17's on the back. new standard clutch
my vr chirps thirds but i got low profile 15'' stockers on back. try them
It would make it harder having standard profile 18x8's on the rear yeah?

my stock vt 6 manual chirps no problems, 17x8 tyres. i have found that if u dont rev 1st as hard and a nice solid release on the clutch ( take your foot all the way off the clutch) My car wont chirp if i flat change into 2nd. Its about releasing the clutch hard enough to bite but not so hard that it slips. 3000rpm in 1st nice solid change into second and it chirps nicely
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
That's right nickoDon't let the clutch out all at once, or it's going to slip a little, and bring the engine down to speed with the rear wheels. It's much like launching hard in 1st gear - you have to put your foot down, and then ride the clutch for a while, depending on the car and the clutch. With my HD clutch, I have to ride for up to a full second, sometimes two, before letting it out, or she'll bog down and axle tramp like a little bitch.
