CD for sat nav

Hi guys. Just wandering- if i was to buy a sat nav that doesnt have the map CD, how would I go about finding one of these? Or is anyone able to burn one? Are they special Holden maps or how do they work?

What brand of sat nav are you looking at. I have a navman and just plug it into my computer.

its the holden sat nav.. it comes as an option in many of holdens cars

thats the one- thought it might be a nice addition
have found you can buy the map cd but its like $300 dollars so dont think im gonna go this route
