Im also keen on this idea as everytime i start the car now i do the in D or R and push the button as a start up thing....

I was thinking of trying to find out what 2 wires they use to turn it off and maybe jumping them together so that it thinks the switch is always turned off.... but not sure if this would work.......

In my gregories it looks like its just one wire in RED&WHITE & BLACK&GREEN opu which goes to earth but i thinking it could be that siple to just earth the RED&WHITE wire.. dont really want to do damage

Yeh I didn't think it could be switched off either.

Whats the legality of having a TC switch "disabled" so to speak?

I know speed inc make a TC default off loom
which just turns off the TC when the ignition is turned on
and if you want it on you just push the TC button and it will turn on

from what sam (from sams performance) has told me if you do manage to disable the TC and are involved in an at fault accident you may have a case to answer........i think he said there was such a case going through the courts at the time.......so tread carefully people........might leave mine alone.......its ONLY a push of a button after all

im sure any hp or efi live tuners can play with it and set how much traction you want.
but as said earlier just order a reverse loom from speedinc and fit it yourself.

traction control is a part of the A.B.S. system and has to be programmed using bosch fire wire as far as i know.
it has nothig to do with the tech II softwear.

Ok so are you meaning play with and turn it off permanently..

Cause if you turn it off (via button) and go for a drive and have at fault accident then its not going to work the same as disabling it it wont work either.. seems like a strange thing to have happen....

i don't think it actually illegal, but maybe insurance company's would use as an escape clause.

i was talking about totally removing/disabling the TC ..........sometimes i forget to press the TC button (upon start up) and its annoying when the TC forces up the accelerator ..........but if its too hard or causes legal issues in an accident too remove it i'll leave it alone
