    Default Coolant Issues?

Hiyas. just cleaning my car, checked oil and all that.

Checked the coolant stick, and it came out sorta grey sticky like. Cleaned it, dipped it in, and it comes out dry? (yes put it all the way in).

Looked under the car and took the below photos. Looks like coolant is dripping off a few parts down there, i touched a drip and it was red (i assume red coolant then).

Car is running fine and not getting hot.

What yas reckon, i dont know much at all about how it all works :P

note: Car recently got a new radiator, as some seal had broken, mixing oil and coolant together.

It looks more like transmission fluid to me. Any leaks from the power steering? What colour is the coolant in the radiator?

Not sure what colour the radiator coolant is, as i said it comes out dry (the dipstick).

How do i check power steering leaks? The container seems fine.

Nah wasnt under warranty, its a 2000vt. I trust my mechanic hes a good bloke. Prob go down in a min and get him to check it out.

When the engine is cool, take off the radiator cap and see what colour the coolant is. I doubt that it will be red.
It's probably not a power steering leak because the pump is on the opposite side to your leak. Check the transmission pipes that
    connect to the radiator.

    is your vehicle a V6 or V8
for V6 2.5 Year Coolant is the only one used unless you have a Toyota, its the green stuff, you might wanna ring your mechanic and ask what coolant he used because it may have put red in it but i doubt it.
but yeah like others have said that its more likely a power steering pump, or transmission because it looks oily not like coolant, if it was a coolant leak it would be leaking a watery substance and would look different to the pictures you have put up.

Took it to my mechanic, says its a leak in the transmission (auto) but isnt too serious. I'll take it to him next week and get it fixed. Just a hose i think.

just try to pinch up the auto fitting that connect to the radiator dont over do it and use 2 spanners so you dont wreck the radiator side fitting , depending on the type of new radiator they fitted , you may find the auto hose side isnt seating properly to the radiator fitting , we have had some issues with some indonesian made radiators (which we refuse to sell) and have had to change the oil coolers over coz they have been over tightened to try and stop the leak , yours might just be loose fitting though i notice that your spring clamp hasnt been seated back in the grooves it was moved from , keep and eye on it it may leak , better yet put a screw clamp on , i dont trust those squeezy clamps

yeah the oil lines from your transmission are probably shagged out ..... all they will do is replace the lines to the oil cooler. and the lines back from the oil cooler

If coolant has been entering the transmission i advise you to run Auto-RX and do a full flush. Then use either Penrite Dex3 or Valvoline Maxlife ATF to rejuvenate the seals the coolant may have affected.
