    Default Oil in Coolant!!!!!

    Hey guys,

i have done an inlet manifold gasket replacement about 6 months ago. Now the issue is there is still a bit of oil (Not as much as when the gasket needed replacing) in the radiator cap area when i check it once a week.
The mechanic says that it is impossible to flush it completely. And it has been fluched twice already. Is this true? Also i need to replace about 1 litre of water every week or so... There are no other visible leaks in the system.
Does this mean that the gasket job was not done properly??? or is there anywhere else that the oil might leak into the cooling system? An O-ring or something in the manifold???
    I'm confused.....

Depending on how bad it was, it takes a while to get it out. It usually goes the tinge of the oil you using, if you using a reddish oil, check as you will know its new oil.

you could of had some oil residue in the overflow bottle and when your water level dropped it would have been sucked into the engine to top it off , or you could have other probs , try some one else for a opinion ,

If you are going through a liter of coolant a week, I would say you have a bigger problem on your hands than oil residue floating around!

might sound stupid but just go buy a new radiator cap, and to flush the block properly u need to remove the knock sensors most mechanics are to lazy to do this, and its also left to the apprentice that forgets to flush the heater core,

reason for the cap is of the return valve is sticking or the caps leaking around the top seal as the car cools down it wont suck the coolant back from the overflow instead it sucks air in around the cap creating the illusion of loosing water,
