Gear stick vibration vu 5.7 ute

I have an 02 vu ss ute, atm i am experiencing a vibration up through the gear stick which drones out the cabin, its through all gears when i apply the gas but when i take it off it stops.... i've had my mechanic have a look at it and hes said it isn't the centre tail shaft bearing... or the rear diff could the leaver itself just be loose?
any help would be much appreciated!!

its a common thing for the T56
and quiet normal so I wouldn't worry about it
you can put some insulation around the base of the shifter to try and quieten it down
