    Default Gilmer Pully? 3.8L

I love the gilmer belt drive sound they have for the v8's.

No one sells these for 3.8L v6, or v6 in general.

Is there a specific reason why? Is it possible to get one made? If so, where would you go?

most likely due to the fact that theyre a serpentine belt system(as opposed to the v belt the v8s use). it would be just too costly to do, and probably wouldnt have the same effect.

Is that the only reason you like it? because of the sound? lol.

Gilmer drives or toothed belt drives were devised to be 'practical'.
This means they were originally fitted to cars that had enough power to 'slip' whatever ancillaries it was driving. Your V6 might not have the power to do the same. That's why V6 kits are uncommon. Like everything else though, they can be made, just depends how bad you want it when it comes time to pay the machine shop bill.

I basically just want the sound, that may seem stupid I know but It's just a personal thing I guess.

I've been reading you can get "straight cut" gears which will give off the same sound?

noone makes them, and youll probably spend thousands getting new pulleys made, if you even can. after that you would need belts to fit. a lot of money to spend on something that will probably end up sounding crap and serving no other purpose

Something you have to think of too is, look at your power steering pump pulley. How ugly would that be custom made out of ally? i reckon it would look like ****. then you have the fact that the multi rib is a serpentine setup, while the cogged belt would have no dramas with this, the tension you have to run could be an issue.
ANOTHER thing you have to think of is vibration and resonance. Ever seen what type of belt a V8 supercar runs on the alternator? not cogged as they believe the vibration causes the bearings to fail in the alternator. Once again, it's up to you, but you will need to custom make the pump pulley at least, thats providing you can adapt pulleys from other kits.

Onto the subject of straight cut gears, WHY WHY WHY? A lot of people try them, some people have success, a majority go back to timing chain, which does the same job and quieter at the same time. Think of it this way, sound is energy, right? so is heat, true? these are outcomes of energy not being transferred efficiently from geartooth to geartooth for example. Heat causes fatigue and fatigue causes breakages and failures. That's my way of thinking anyway, a cogged belt is a compromise, much like putting a spool in your car, sure you get 100% traction at both wheels, but you pay for it in excessive tyre wear on a streeter. Sorry to rant, it's someone else's turn now lol
