How to tell a if its a real berlina ?

hey folks,

just a little question, ive bought myself a vt berlina and ive stripped the whole interior apart planning on putting the spak interior in.

after i ripped up the carpet i found a sheet of paper.. i guess you could call it a 'build sheet' it basically is just a printout of what goes on the car at the assembly line. Obviously so they dont **** up and put the wrong things on. for e.g the shockers, steering, all that sorta stuff.

and then in the corner of the sheet it says "BUILD: EXEC"

so now im lead to beleave its a executive ???

did they even make a 97 vt executive ?? i thought the executive was like a **** cheaper version of the calais ??

do you have a/c or climate control?? if its climate control its a berlina

all just options to upgrade them.

Search the forum for the VIN thread, and check yours against the VT stuff, as theres different option codes for different models.

That sheet should be pretty spot on, so i'm led to believe its an exec.

Check ur cluster,Berlina's have 3 window clusters.Yes,there r 97 Exec.'s.Cheaper version of Calais is Berlina.

The thing is, there optional on Execs, so thats not really going to tell him anything if the first owner optioned it.

The VIN will ALWAYS tell the story of if its an Exec, Berlina or Calais.

Spend an extra 2-3k on all the Berlina parts when you can buy a Berlina for roughly the same price.....yep....I'd do it.....

i was thinking about just upgrading my dash to a three window display, but not climate control thats to spiffy for me, i dont like many extra's just the small things like three window display.
