OK, i pulled my dash off to paint it the last few days, so i got it all off, painted it and put it all back i took my key, and turned it on after i had everything plugged in but before i had all the dash parts sectured with screws n such, just to make sutre i had all the plugs in correct. ok so i left it like that tested the windows n stuff, got it all screwd in and secured, just before i got the last thing pushed down my car makes the 3 beeping noise thing, then i watch my fuel gauge go down, thinking thats weird i turn off from accessories and turn off the car, push everything in correct and go to start the car, wondering if its all good. wont start, thelights dim but thats it, no spark
did i make my car think i was stealing it? if not why the hell isent it starting and what can i do about it?
Mark

Either a flat battery or a bad connection on the battery terminals or starter motor. The clicking usually indicates a lack of power.

pretty sure its the battery itself, becouse the car hasnt been run in a few months propperly besides taking ot for a roll around the block, and i drive it outside to see it shine in the sun somtimes >.>
and i always have the door open or somthing doing somthing in there so im guessing its just the battery, wil lave to get a new one or a charger
Haha, that exact same thing happened to me. Did basically the same thing as you - taking dash apart (negative battery terminal d/c of course). Went to start it: nothing. Progressed to a clicking, which was the starter motor. this progressed to the RACV man coming and saying "not enought current to starter motor" replaced one of holdens ****ty battery terminals with a good one, so then two quality terminals. Managed to jump start me. My battery was Aerial brand and therefore flat...
Just a thought - If your battery is nearly flat and you d/c it. When you go to re connect it, with the car restarting its self and that. the current draw from that operation, before you start the car and due to the battery being disconnected possibly, would be enough to make your battery flat finally? (no longer start) this as opposed to a couple of days more of driving?
Could be something to think about if your battery is getting along and you are gunna do some electrical work on your car...
chuck it in park to start it lol
ive done it a few times, left it in drive when ive put it all back together.
if its in park, wiggle the shifter a bit and it might start
