I just have bought myself a VX-II Berlina... only got a stock exhaust on it..
am just wondering what exhaust will make it sound deep and not tinny.. something that will turn a few heads but not be unbearable..
also not looking for a full system exhaust, hopefully just a tip or something of the sort.. the car cost enough as it was :P..
so yer any replies will be greatly appreciated..
A tip of any kind will only make it sound faggy. Atleast get a cat back about $300 worth.
lol yer, i was gonna look into that.. but was hoping there was a short cut method haha..
also i would like to know if air filters actually improve the performance and economy of the car.. or is it just another gimmic?
and if u hadn't noticed i'm a newbie at this kinda thing, just got rid of my little piece of sh*t lancer lol.. was the car i learnt in.. so any tips would be greatly appreciated

Buick and Ecotec V6 Performance Upgrades
Checkout that link to get you started. But the short answer to will the air filter make a noticable difference is - no.
When i first came i spent days siffting through old threads for ideas, go have a dig and see what you can find. If you got a ecotec then alot of engine mods on VS's will be aplicable to you aswell as they carry the same motor, whereas the vn-r had the buik 3.8 v6
cheers.. got another question for ya lol..
What generally comes included in a 2n1/2" Performance Exhaust System?
i would say is prolly 2n1/2" pipe with a muffler but it all depends on the cost... how much is it? if i were you i would atleast do a 2n1/2 pipe from the cat back with a muffler on the end, duel tips look nice to. prolly cost about 300 or so but will sound and look ausom
its done by profix for $250...
I had a sports system put on my VT wagon a few years back at the muffler place on the corner of port road and south road. Sounds wicked... real head turner. The previous system sounded ****... think buzz box/fart in a bottle. Only set me back $230. Going back for extractors now that I've got a VY motor.
ahk thanks for the help guys, n girl maybe :P
yer i might give it a bit of time before i get it done, gotta save up for a good dash dvd player... :P .. now thats class or something that makes it point out.. steal me! lol..
something like this mate?
YouTube - VT V6 Exhaust note, idle and revs
done here is SA my vt 6
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
depending on where you are, there is a good place in lonsdale called southern towbars and exhausts which will do a Catback with a lukey tip i think for about 350 to 450 then you will want some headers on that i would recommend lukey or pacemaker since they are the ones i know make a really deep rumble
I would remcommend a 2.5" or 3" catback system with pacemaker headers and a lukey tip (i have heard it sounds awesome)

im new to this site and dont know how to post my own question so ill just do it here i got a vr v6 just wanted to know wether i should go the 2" 1/2 exhaust or cold air intake ???
get the exhuast
Have a look on eBay if you are looking to save a few pennies. Theres a full system on there atm (excl. extractors) at $100, but should go for about $200. A lot of them aren't the good "brand names", but should do the job.
If you are in melbourne, my mate just got his full system done pretty cheap from this place that i can't remmebr the name of. if you are interested, then i might be able to find out more.
i just ordered a Lukey cat back from a local dealership for $300 to $350 fitted. i think that is pretty good! but i was also told that Red Back cat backs sound good as well.
if your cheap you could always drill illegal holes into your current exhaust
(i do not condone this)![]()
haha yea that is a good way! shoulda done that instead of spending money on a new exhaust! haha
I have just found, and subsequently joined this forum as I have a VX2 Acclaim wagon that I am stuck with for the foreseeable future that has some front end suspension issues - but thats for later.
That sounded pretty good - can you post up who did it for you, and ROM on how much it cost? I am very interested in making this car as interesting as possible to keep. (coming from a WRX is gonna make it hard - but hey)
