umm, you need a tacho to operate a shift light, otherwise, how does it know what RPM to come on at?

im sure you'll need an input from the tacho atleast so it can actually activate on the rmp you want it to turn on at... :/

You do not NEED a tacho for a shift light.
You need a 12v source, a ground, and an RPM signal, either from the coil negative, or if you can find the tacho wire, usually brown wire hidden on passenger side somewhere.
