    Default heat problem

hi guys, my vy ss has a Gen t1000 kit fitted to it, my battery light and check alternator light came on after some hard acceleration, took it to my auto elec and he thinks it could be the heat off the manifolds that screwed my alternator. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so whats the fix?
    Cheers luke

Ok so my VT commodore is having trouble! It has just started having heating issues, when I start driving the temperature steadily climbs, all the way until it reaches H. Now this has been happening for the past few weeks, I got pissed off at it and just hoped that it would die so I didnt have to deal with its crap anymore (this is the 3rd time this has happened). The first time this happened, it was because my radiator needed replacing. The second time was because the incompetent mechanic who replaced the radiator didnt bleed the air out of the system. Now all of a sudden its happening again, the difference now is that the temp doesn't go down (like it used to) and it just runs hot the whole time i'm driving. Could this be a problem with the thermostat or would it be more likely now that its a problem with the actual gauge? As in its not reading properly & it thinks its hot when its not? Any help would be awesome. Thanks (P.S. The reason i'm commenting is because it wont let me post a new thread)

i had that problem w/ my vr and it was because the lines were blocked and i needed to be flushed out, but could also be your gauge, just get them both checked to be on the safe side

Any decent mechanic will be able to measure the exact temp using a ir thermometer; this will tell you if it is a temp gauge. With symptoms you described, I would have looked at the thermostat first.
