    Default pacemaker extractors for $250

i just bought a set of seccond hand pacemaker extractors for my v6 vt. they have a few scratches and a dint in the y frame but i figure you dont see them, so looks dont matter. there not installed yet.

what u guys reckon, good for 250 or should i have not bought them?
is there a noticeable difference in power?

commodore wreckers at ashmore want 130 to install them, i thought that was a bit pricey, any one installed them? cant be that hard?

also looking at getting a 2 and half inch catback; anyone know anyone on the gold coast that does em cheap? ive got 1 quote at 420 with twin tips 65 extra for stainless steel

any feed back would be good thanks!

for a v6 or v8? 130 to install them isnt that bad. thats like 2 hours labour anywhere else, and its going to take more than 2 hours if youve never done it before. its not that hard to do, but it just requires the right tools and a lot of space to move the headers around underneath the car

yeah after making a couple calls 130 is a good installation price. one bloke told me to take full advantage of the headers ill needa upgrade to a high flow cat, was wondering if thats REALLY nessacery?

one bloke quoted $450 for catback with tip and headers installed, thought that was good

High flow cats will do nothing to a stock 6.

The $450 quote is nothing special. Depends on the system. Headers themselves might give it a bit more grumble, but it'll basically do crap all. You need a decent cat back to go with it.

edit: Actually $450 is pretty good for most exhausts. But it does really depend on what's being put on it.

it all depends on where you go and the quality of work you want done to your car!!!

for example here in adelaide you can get cat back done for round 250$ but the final product isnt that good as some of my friends have experienced...

mine was done at a place called rampage exhausts 450$ cat back with your joice of stainless steel tips and the sound is about as good as you can get!

so dont opt for the cheaper place just because its cheaper!

I paid $400 for mine. But it's a custom made one that's silent on ideal and roars when my foot goes down. I'm pretty sure I got a deal on that too.

You can also buy a standard catback for $250, sometimes cheaper now. You can also spend thousands.

$200 for that. I reckon they're a bit drony. But you can't go wrong.
