Woah CD player started smoking...

Any suggestions what it could be? CD player has a nasty smell to it, its clearly toast, but i would love to know why. Its the stock Eurovox single cd player that comes in VTs.

um... i would probably take the cd player out, because that aint good
your probably looking at a replacement

Well its been taken out, the second it started smoking i did that, going to try and hunt down a cheap replacement unit ASAP.

Just curious, i have a single din head unit, and i know about the dash pockets, but im assuming you have to make up a bracket for the single din headunit so its held in place? Or is there a bracket you buy?

Never seen one or dealt with one myself, but don't the pockets come with a bracket?

Hey man, with my Alpine unit, it has a bracket screwed on the side and then you just drill a hole in the casing around the stereo in the dash and screw the bracket on, I hope that makes sense. Then the pocket just slides into the single DIN space.

Yeah i noticed the pocket slides in, was just wondering if theres a universal CD thing or not. Ill look into it all tomorrow in the light of day and let you know how i go!

lol just slide it in.. and just have something under it.. it will be fine :P.. but obviously make sure it is a snug fit..
