OK. Under breaking I get a shake through the steering wheel - a little left right movement - 1/2 a cm or so. There is no pulsing in the brake pedal.
Discs were machined about a year ago, decent pads.
Also I have a vibration that creeps in at about 120KMH. Feels like I have an out of round tyre or something. Had a full wheel balance done. It reduced it much it's still apparent.
I've thinking that maybe its the prop shaft bearings or something.
Anyone else have any ideas ?
I plan on fitting slotted dba rotors soon, and braided brake lines to get some pedal feel.
If anyone else can think of something worth checking, I'd appreciate it.
Cheers
my VS has started to do the same and i was thinking the center bearing in the tail shaft (as u said)
my car and my bros VT do the same...at high speeds 100+ is it that much of a worry?
Im thinking that its going to be a warped rear disc.
Whats happening is that the movement in the floating disc is changing the balance of the the entire rotating wheel assembly, not just the wheel.
I thought long and hard about driveshaft bearings, but driveshaft bearing problems should (theoretically) be more apparent at low speeds than high. Also I replaced my prop shaft bearings about 2 years ago, and the should still be ok. Should being the operative word.
I have bought a full set of slotted discs and new pads, and will fit them probably between christmas and new years. Will post back so people get the result.
