Default annoying surface rust on rotors

i bought a set of DBA slotted rotors and on the front two rotors there is a perfect circle of surface rust around the hub where the pads do not contact. you would think they would be better designed as it looks tacky and is annoying me. is there anyway i can remove this surface rust for good?

yeah just rub them back, give them a coat of paint using the high temp stuff along with the high temp primer b4 painting. Just dont paint the rotor surface itself where the pads run.

Go on, come up with something better that's cost effective. Brakes reach stupid high temperatures, get wet, get coated in hot brake dust particles, mud, road grimes and oils etc, all sorts of bullsh!t.. No wonder they rust. The important bit is sanded back by the pads anyway...

Sand back and paint if you're hell keen, but you'll end up with the same problem eventually, unless you wash it regularly as ^^he said

Why can't Aussie cars discs be like the European cars where the pad covers the whole of the disc face.
The GrpA/SV5000/GTS VN-VS 330mm disc setups are the worst offenders cause the pad only covers about 3/4 of the disc face.

if you are really all that concerned about it, and have nothing better to spend your cash on, then go buy a set of floating rotors. otherwise stiff. as for the alloy things, save your cash. nuff said.

What about these? I hesitate to put some cheap machined alloy between my wheels and rotors - too many things I can think of it might upset.

    Whatch'all reckon ??
Id imagine these would also b illegal acting like a wheel spacer? from the pics they dont look 2 thick at all tho but im sure insurance companies may find somthing they dont like about them. 4 the price tho y bother wen 2 cans will cost u $30?

Wattle brand epoxy paint will handle the rotor temperature with ease. I paint motorcycle barrels with epoxy paint, and never had any problems. It is self priming and has rust inhibiters so can be painted straight onto the bare metal, once you have removed any loose scale or rust.
