Default fuel smell when running .and other question

ok ive got a series one vt berlina , i recently changed the plugs and gapped them properly, since then i have had a strong fuel smell that sometimes comes through the vent and is real bad under the bonnet after it has been running , any ideas what part i may have to replace/reset ?? also for the same car i have a fan speed problem , it only works on high speed all the time but occasionally it works on the lower speeds for a little while then cuts out , i was told i needed a fan resistor , i went to holden and he gave me a vx fan resistor , its like a plug on one end and on the other end it has an aluminium peice with ribs on it does this sound like the right part, as i have noticed other post on here where people have talked about a fan "controller" whats the difference ? coz i dont want to have to pull the dash offif i dont have to ,
thanks in advance for any info ,

The fan speed resistor is for models withouit climate control.
The Ventilation Motor Control is for models with climate control.
Check all fuel hoses under the bonnet for leaks, especially where they connect to pipes.

Check all the orings on your injectors and fuel lines ASAP, fuel leaks sooner or later lead to a burntout car so get ontop of that as soon as you can
