    Default Fuel pressure regulator

My vt v6 is slow to start. Assuming it was the fuel pressure regulator, I decided to take a look and noticed it is attached to the fuel rail (Unlike the vr v6 which is held by a allen key and sealed with an o ring).

Surely I don't have to get a new fuel rail as well? How do I get the fuel pressure regulator off?

I suppose I could get the starter motor tested as it could be a bit lazy.

There is a snap ring that holds the regulator in place.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

By the holden workshop manual, you have to take off the fuel rail to remove the fuel pressure regulator. I have not figured out why yet, but i will be doing the job soon for the same reason as yourself. When disconnecting these components, make sure that you are weary of contaminants that may go into your fuel system. When you remove the fuel pressure regulator, have a rag ready for the excess fuel to spill out.

Thanks for that, I will see if I can get away with not having to take off the fuel rail in the next few days when I have a go at replacing it. Good luck with yours too

I just had mine changed for around $280 !!! It was leaking passed the regulator when it was meant to cut off fuel into the lines as i have dual fuel. Mechanic said that Holden take off the top end with fuel rail, but i watched him and they somehow got to it from behind it. Decent job though. They removed all the EGR valve and gear etc.
