    Default "Clouded" headlight

One of the headlights on my VX Acclaim has a cloudy appearance
So far, I've been unable to remove it, any thoughts/ideas?
    Thanks
    Paul

Is the cloudiness on the inside or outside?

Ive heard of a few ways to remove this:

    1. Cutting Compound like Scratch X, just use it like you would on paint (I've Done it this way and it work quite well)

    2. A very fine grit sandpaper (Maybe 2000 grit? i don't know)

Car polish gets good results on plastic.

Try and polish it off. My headlights are sort of stuffed (from the car bra i think)... sort of has a cloudy appearance and i think the bra has removed a thin film from the headlights... polish has helped it but not totally fixed it.

I polished mine every week for a year. It starts to get expensive, just replace it

I bought the headlight restorer from Supercheap ($28)

It comes with 4 grades of wet and dry (1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 grit)
Fortunately my headlight didn't have any scratches, so I was able to start with the 2000 grit followed by 2500 and a few applications of the liquid polish
Very happy with the result and will be interested to see how long it lasts

Thanks for your advice, especially Ben

    Regards
    Paul

i would get a headlight restoration kit from autobarn because you headlights are crazing... adelaide pauls way is most of the time effective depending on how bad your lights are

    Cool

well i have used regular car polish on my lights and now they just shine!

they didnt have a cloudy appearance, just pretty scratched up.

have you changed yours globes recently? you mustn't ever make contact with the globes with your skin. - this gets acids on the globe. when the globe is refitted and turned on, the acids evapourate into the light cluster and gives a nice cloudy effect
