Default VT Air Bag Light on and beep

Hi guys, we recently cleaned out my mates VT V6 and we took the seats out so we could vacumm underneath them. Anyway we put the seats back in, connected up all the wires and turned the car on and the airbag light comes on after about 5sec of starting it and it makes a beeping noise to. The beeping eventually stops but the light stays on.

Anyone know what is going on and how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers.

You should have disconnected the battery before unplugging anything to do with airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. If you turn the ignition on with any of these things unplugged it registers a fault. The only way to get rid of the light now is to have it reset at a Holden dealer or by someone with a Tech 2.

my car used to do this EVERY time i turned the car on. im pretty sure it was a fuse. i smashed my car into a pole before i had a chance to find out the real story and when i got my car back from getting fixed it no longer did it.
the light defiantly means the airbag is disabled though because i hit a pole head on at about 80k's and my airbag didn't deploy

It shouldn't cost much, maybe $30 - $40. It depends on the dealer and if you get your car serviced at a particular dealer they might do it for nothing.
Your fuses are behind the panel below the steering column, just pull it towards you from the top. I doubt that it will be a blown fuse though.

Ok thanks mate! I was talking to my dad who is a mechanic and he said he can get it done for free so it should be all good.

    Thanks for your help!
