    Default v2 headlights

    Hey guys,
I'm geting a v2 front put on my vt and i wanted to get the monaro lights but they were a bit more expensive then i thought. I started to look at aftermarket lights but i couldnt find any monaro ones. does anyone know if there are any other headlights from other models that will fit?
    Cheers

I thought the WH statesmans had different lights to VTs, all stock VTs had the same lights, then you have the Altezza lights and the genuine Monaro lights.

Yeah i wanted the ones with the black surroundings, ill probably get the altezza ones. Do you reckon the the altezza lights that fit a vt will fit into the monaro front? (a v2 is just the abbreviation for the vt/vx monaro)

I've attached some pics - i hope they aren't too crappy.

V2 Monaro lights are darker and more like the aftermarket altezza lights (although much better quality than aftermarket, of course).

VT are just standard like VR/VS - lines in the lenses, not as sporty.

Just to confuse - WHII Statesman International lights are just like the V2 Monaro lights but clear not dark. I want a set of these for my VT.

If yours were WH series II International - i was qouted $275 each new from Holden. Never seen them on eBay yet and i look regularly.

AFAIK the "Standard" WH series II lights (and earlier series I) are like the VT Calais ones. It's only the WHII International that were different. I could be wrong but.

I don't know about costs for any of the others.

if you buy VT Altezza headlights from ebay, they will come in either black or clear/ chrome. They dont advertise WH's on ebay as they are less common and are the same as VT lights anyway (i mean the shape, not the style). Buy altezza, and mostly you will get a brand TYC, a bluey-grey box with TUNING on the side. The clear/ chrome VT Altezza lights are practically an imitation of WH headlights, and the black ones are an imitation of monaro ones. You wont be able to buy a pair of VT lights that look normal, they will always be they WH imitaion, unless they are genuine. So if you want clear headlights to fit you VT, buy the clear VT Altezza ones, and they will look like the WH. Ive just bought black altezza's for my V2 CV8 bar and they fit fine, and ive got a VX. All they holes are they same, same plugs, everything. VT same case, everything fits. sell for around the 300 mark, some places can get down to 250, some well up to 350, just gotta hunt.

Ive heard they are worse quality though?

WHII Statesman International from Holden sound like the ones to own from the sounds of things.

With my VL (mid 90's) the reflectors in aftermarket lights were absolute rubbish. But then in 2004 i tried the altezza lights on my VR (DEPO) and the reflectors seemed similar to genuine.

Aftermarket VT lights these days are probably okay too, but personally i don't like the look of any of them compared to the WHII Stato Int ones. Until i saw them i had thought of the Monaro V2 lights but didn't want black. As i said in my earlier post the WHII Stato Int lights are identical to the V2 Monaro ones except they're not black.

You can't go wrong with genuine lights if you got the $, but if you ain't fussy aftermarket will do.
