you might need a new engine, because it looks like your head is cracked or an internal component is cracked ....... from the coolant

looks like its leaking toward the front of the car (radiator or hose maybe)

I'd say theres a chance you might have cooked the engine

yeah it all depends on what part has been leaking, if its a water pump then you possibly would of fried your engine.

you said it wont start and coolant goes everywhere...

do you know the history of the motor like has it been cooked before?

check for fuel and spark at the motor id focus on getting it running first

Im not to sure about the history, im not sure where the coolent was comming from so i took pics of it. i am pretty sure the motor is cooked as i took the dipstick out and the dipstick looks black, not like normal motor oil and smells burnt. the car has done 230,000 so id say its had it.

just cause the oils black doesnt mean the engines had it, change it, good chance if you have cooked your motor, it wouldnt even crank, she'd be seized solid, where abouts is the water coming from, a hose, behind one of the pulleys , like a water pump, gasket, or is there actually a crack there, have a look.. those radiators always leak and it could be blowing back when the thermo fans kick in, if all else fails get a mechanic to look at it... might be cheaper than a new motor,

I don't think it is too serious. It is probably your waterpump leaking coolant which has got into your crank angle sensor and shorted it out so the engine will not start. Check your fault codes and see what you come up with. The waterpump should have a drain hole just below the front shaft so if the seal leaks the coolant runs out on the ground instead of filling the front bearing with coolant which will cause it to seize.

looks to me like u have cracked ur radiator; blown a hose to the radiator; resulting in no coolent to the engine, therefore overheating and cookin ur motor.. new 3.6L ecotecs are relatively cheap. better off just slappin a newbo in

well i just took the car the the mechanic he has said i needed a new engine like i thought the quotes i have gotten from him are: recon engine fitted $3686 12 moth warranty or 2nd hand engine that has been on gas for 1 month fitted $2244 3 month warranty, are these fair prices?

mmm a bit pricey, but i spose he's gotta make some money, it could probly be done cheaper, but if you ring around it would probly be fair..

Repco reconditioned engines (AC Delco) are about $3000 so including labour that price sounds about right.

    I just bought a 2nd hand VX motor for $850 , the VS's being sold were $675.
$500 labour + oil, coolant etc I'm being charged...

    so you're being ripped off
