Thumbs up HOW TO: chrome your vx calais/berlina grill (lots of pics)

ey guys thought i might post this up as i did this 2day

    things you need:

    1. take 1 vx calais or berlina car
    2. take the grill from your car

    3. place the grill on the ground and smear it in with the quick strip

4.grab a beer and wait around for 15-20mins........might need another beer i drank mine fair quick

    5. grab the hose and rinse off the quick strip goo untill clean....then grab a cloth and wipe it down

    6. should turn out like this

might need to repeat the steps 3,4,5 as it might not take it all off...i needed to do mine about 2-3 times to remove all of the black paint

How many other parts on the VT/VX can you do this too? Can never have too much chrome if its in the right spots. Just a shame your headlights aren't silver/chrome to match it.

you can do something similar to this with the vr/vs berlina grilles, they originally have a chrome lip with a grey background. I wanted a black background as the grey didnt go with my car. You could probably use the same quick strip stuff that dijm8 used, but i used thinners, a few rags and shedloads of elbow grease lol. It worked a charm, and from front on you get the black background, and diagonally you get a trippy reflection lol.

Heres some after pics at 2 different angles:

Why does my VX Calais grill look different to yours? mine has vertical grills while yours has a criss cross pattern.

I just finished chroming my grill, took me about three hours and I had to apply the paint stripper about four times it looks so much better now I recommend this to anyone with a VX Calais.

I doubt it, it looks like your grill is part of the actual front bumper.
