Hi
I have a strange problem on my VT S Pak, After 30 mins driving from a cold engine start, the enigne will suddenly vibrate heavily when accelerating, with total lack of power. Then need to rest the car for 20 mins to make the quick 10 min dash home before it happens again.
The mechanic has already changed the leads and assured me this would fix the issue, but it hasn't. Does anybody have ideas of what this could be or needs checking ?
Cheers.
deffinatly sounds electrical..
get yourself a work manual and check resistance on coils using a multimeter first up
That vibration can only be a missfire on one or more cylinders! Check the spark plug high tension leads first of.

Check your error codes if you can (see the FAQ)
Is it misfiring? i.e. does it feel like it is 'surging' under you....
I would suggest coil packs and ignition module.
well of course nobody has mentioned anything about the plugs. swap them out for a nice new set, wich have been properly gapped and see if there is a change.
Hi Folks
Mechanic was finally able to use scanner showing that the crank angle sensor and ignition module had failed. replaced both of them now everything is running fine on those long trips.![]()
