My VX has developed a pronounced swishing sound and a very slight judder from the steering. It's only happening under slow speeds such as turning corners. Anyone ideas to what is causing this?
Have you checked the steering fluid level? I've not heard of the steering making a swishing sound, are you sure it's related to the steering and the noise isn't coming from somewhere else?
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
if the oils not low could be your pump
heater core leaking?

I actually took it to my wife's mechamnic today. He checked things like fluid levels and the pump. Couldn't fault them. He thinks it could be a rubber/bush at the bottom of the steering column. He also reckons that he's never seen a problem like this before in a VX. Anybody heard of this problem before?

I've now also notiiced that the steering is making a slight juddering sound as if something is rubbing on something else. Hasn't anyone had this problem before?
Have you had the steering rack checked out by this mechanic?
Steering rack boots crack over time and this may allow dust & crap to make its way into the bearings/seals & what have you that these boots protect. Once crap gets into these things, problems start..
