Respray question (I hate birds)

Hey guys n girls, i did a quick search on resprays but i didnt really find what i was looking for...

I've got my car parked in a 'garage' that doesnt have a roof, just a big tree... and apparently theres a birds nest because just before christmas a damn bird dropped an EGG!!! on my roof... now because i wasnt around for a few days, by the time i saw it and quickly took it to the car wash to get it off, it was too late!!

today i went to a car detailer to see if a cut and polish would get it off, but nupp.. its damaged the paint sooo its time for a respray

anyway, my question is.. how much should i be prepared to spend to respray the roof only of my vt? Im in melbourne, n I dont want a cheap and nasty job, but i dont wanna be left broke either!

iv seen in some articles and **** around south east melb that pannels are around $300 each to get sprayed, so id say your looking at around that to get it resprayed, If your around Melb give spruce body works a call.

i would avoid going to europaint. Thats my tip. From memory its about $650 for a roof to get painted.

heh. shame your not a bit closer. Ive got a 20Lt drum of clear over sitting in the shed doing nothing. coulda saved a few $$$.

Why not? I had my roof resprayed due to damage from birds as well. Just spent 2 full days cleaning my wheels. Cost me about $350 from memory but may very if your paint is metallic or not.

Only that it's spending a fair amount of money on fairly minor cosmetic damage to a panel that people don't really see much off anyway.

Don't get me wrong, it's your money and your pride and joy, so do what you will with them, but it's not exactly a mandatory spend.

I have a vx commodore that has a **** load of scratches on the roof, I'm a P plater and love my stock VX and i'll be getting the roof re-sprayed as well as soon as I can. I do think it would be more then $300 though.
