VT Immobiliser issues

I just replaced my ignition barrel after the shaft broke. I had a locksmith put the new one together and have put it back in the car. The lights come on and the engine turns over but no spark. I'm told the immobiliser is still activated. I've tried the various tricks like pressing the unlock button whilst turning the key. No joy. Tried a few other suggestions and it's still activated. Any other suggestions????

Perhaps the key reader which would have beem removed during the removal of the ignition barrel is not positioned properly or unplugged. Make sure the key is touching the key reader.

All good thanks. Turns out I hadn't put one of the relays back in properly.
