Default weird VT calais climate control issue

    hi guys,
recently bought the wife a VT calais..nice car and all BUT one thing ive noticed with the climate control is that when youve got the A/C on and you have the setting for the air to come out directed at the face..it will blow onto the front windscreen, and then after sometime then blow onto your face and alternate between the 2..real wierd..and whats even more bizzare is if youre accelerating it will blow onto the front windscreen and then as soon as you get off the accelerator will then blow onto your face..
all the directions are all over the place..no matter what you select..it will blow onto the front windscreen..
its kinda ****ing me off..anyone know whats the problem?

Might just be faulty ? Or it's on Circulation mode ?. Maybe the light is toast on that.
Mine has started on circulation mode before. Then there is the window button that might be on also.

But easy fix might be replace the climate control unit they are pretty cheap to buy and pretty easy to replace.

I would check your vacum hoses under the dash behind the glovebox. Do a search on here for this issue. If you have a leak or a hose has come off then you will get these types of problems.

OK similar problem here... on face mode it will only blow to the feet area, i did notice though that the vacuum type solenoid which has the 2 (i think) vacuum hoses a white and a green (from memory) will not go all the way ie pushed in. If you push the plunger all the way in then the air will blow to the face vent. It seems that the plunger wont suck in all the way. As i said before that there are 2 vacuum hoses a green and a white. the white at the end and the green at the side if the plunger "housing".
Is there a box that diverts the vacuum these plungers (there are 2 that i can see)

It would be nice to get the face vent working as it would be the most used one.

    Thanks in advance

OK did have a look and found the following to be the issue.
Do NOT take the glove box lid and inside lining out..NO NEED
Simply pull the black cover off BEHIND the glove box, pull it down but it will sort of hinge at the kick panel, again no need to pull the whole thing off.
You will see a black rectangular box with colored wires (which are actually vacuum hoses), mine seemed ok but i pushed all of them in, they seem to be on a silicon or soft plastic type of manifold setup, still the problem was there but now intermittently.
Yes are started to come out of the face vent, sometimes, after cycling through vent options.
I then looked at the electrical connector, i removed the connector checked the wires going into it, all seemed ok, so i thought dirty connector, slid the connector in and out a few times so to clean the pins and now its all good, if i had contact cleaner i would have sprayed some in, but all is OK now

50LTRv8 thanks for the lead !!!!!

i have the same issue, i checked pretty much everything. No luck with getting it to work. More than likely its the ****ty rubber manifold that connects all the vacuum hoses.
Anyway good to hear you fixed yours, there a few guys around here that have this issue and cant fix it

I've noticed that in my VZ sometimes, I think it's just a part of how the system works to circulate the air and keep the whole car cool. Not abnormal as far as I can tell because I think the HUD changes the little icon which tells you where it's blowing to the window while it's doing it, so it's knows it's doing it. Will have to read the manual when I'm home!
