Does anyone know how to disconnect the fuel lines on the ecotec that run to the firewall from the fuel rail ? I know there is a special tool to use, are these easy to get ? Gregories manual also showed using the pen lid slid down one side to slide over the hoses and use it to unclip, but i tried this a while ago and it didnt work, anyone tried it before ?
G'day
I need to know as well. I was disconnecting everything in preparation to pull my motor out. The manual I downloaded just said to disconnect the fuel lines which I was able to do without undoing anything. It took a fair bit of brute force to pull the lines off the back of the motor. Then I said a big OOOPS!
So please does someone know?

You can get a kit from supercheap or repco around $15, but you need to de-pressurise your fuel system first before attempting to remove lines remove the fuel relay and run car till wont start. I also blow the connectors out with compressed air to remove any dirt build up.
1998 vt same as, stopping after fueling up, has been doing it for a month now. Came home yesterday and pulled throttle body off, and cleaned. Not that i think that was the problem. Doesn't seem to matter what fuel i put in it e.g E10 or 98. Would love to know what the problem could be.

G'day
I got my fuel lines disconnected.
The best bit was that I didn't have to buy a kit that I would only lose.
I made a tool out of some plastic pipe that I found in my junk heap. It was a piece of beer hose from a pub.
The pipe has to have a 2mm thick wall and an 8mm inside diameter. The beer hose had a 10mm inside diameter, so I sliced a bit out of it lengthwise.
I cut a piece 20mm long and clipped it over the metal fuel line.
I pushed it in and it worked great.
